Your Consultation
If you are interested in learning more about labiaplasty, we encourage you to contact us to schedule an initial consultation. Dr. Tal Roudner will take the time to discuss your medical history and your aesthetic goals, as well as to conduct an examination and talk to you about the risks and benefits of vaginal surgery. A comprehensive consultation will determine if you are a candidate.
Am I A Candidate?
Dr. Tal Roudner has treated women of many different ages and backgrounds who seek out vaginal surgery for a variety of reasons. An initial consultation is the best way to determine if labiaplasty is right for you. In general, you may be a candidate for labiaplasty if:
- You find certain activities, such as sports, uncomfortable due to large labia
- You are self-conscious about the appearance of your genitalia
- You don’t enjoy sex due to enlarged labia
- You have experienced changes in the appearance of labia due to age or childbirth
The Procedure
If you decide that labiaplasty vaginal surgery is the right choice for you, we will schedule your surgery and discuss important self-care steps that need to be taken before and after your labiaplasty. Most cosmetic procedures are performed as outpatient surgeries right here in our Miami surgical suite, but in some cases, it may be necessary to perform your vaginal surgery at one of Miami’s excellent hospitals. This decision will be made at your consultation.
Labiaplasty can be performed under general anesthesia, but at our practice, it is typically performed with conscious sedation with local anesthesia1. The precise steps and length of surgery will vary depending on the specific concerns being addressed. In general, the two most common techniques are trim labiaplasty and wedge labiaplasty. Dr. Roudner will use specialized tools to carefully trim and remove excess skin and tissue from your labia, as discussed during your consultation. A fat transfer procedure may also be part of the treatment plan for patients who wish to add volume to the labia majora. Incisions will be closed with dissolvable sutures.
Recovery After Labiaplasty
Immediately after vaginal surgery, it is common to experience bruising, tenderness, and discomfort. Dr. Roudner will provide prescriptions for medication that can reduce post-operative pain and swelling. During the recovery period, it’s important to follow Dr. Roudner’s instructions to ensure an optimal outcome. In general, it’s important to avoid sexual intercourse and the use of tampons as well as any strenuous physical activities for at least six weeks following surgery. Most patients can resume light physical activity four weeks after vaginal surgery. It is critical to attend all scheduled follow-up appointments at our Miami office. If you have any post-operative questions or concerns, please contact us immediately.
FAQs About Labiaplasty
Are There Any Risks Involved With Labiaplasty?
When performed by an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon, labiaplasty is considered safe. However, as with any surgery, it has certain risks, including infection, bleeding, and hematoma. And while rare, the most prevalent complication is over resection of excess skin and tissue, which can result in dryness, scarring at the vaginal opening, or painful intercourse.
How Much Does Vaginal Surgery (Labiaplasty) Cost?
Vaginal surgery (labiaplasty) costs vary depending on the type of procedure needed and the patient’s goals. The price range for a labiaplasty procedure is usually between $4500 and $10000. Your specific costs will be provided at your initial consultation appointment. In addition, Dr. Tal Roudner offers financing options for qualified patients interested in financing.
Can I Combine Labiaplasty With Other Procedures?
Yes, labiaplasty is often combined with vaginoplasty. This is a procedure designed to tighten loose vaginal muscles.
Dr. Tal Roudner offers highly specialized vaginal surgery in Miami, with personalized treatment to address each patient’s physical discomfort or aesthetic concerns. As a result, labiaplasty patients often report more confidence, increased comfort in day-to-day activities, and renewed sexuality after vaginal surgery.
